    Default Which scope for AR-15?

I have an AR-15 and I'm wanting to do some coyote hunting. My question is which scope should I look at getting? I was considering an ACOG since I've been to the Army's LRM course and can hit easily out to 600m though I doubt I'd be shooting at coyotes at 600m. What are your opinions?

    Thanks,

For a red-dot that's compact and affordable I really like my Vortex SPARC. I don't feel comfortable with it past 100 yards, though. Any good quality 3x9 scope should do the job for you.

I'd look at the Vortex Viper PST 1-4.

It's pretty hard to consider anything else when you can easily hit out to 600m but the only drawback to the ACOG would be the price. I put a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40, part #67160, mil dot reticle and like it so far. Haven't had the chance for anything long range yet but so far so good.

I have a Vortex Strikefire 4x w/ a red or green dot its your choice. I found out the hard way that it doesn't work in extremely cold weather, I guess its a battery thing. I went out and got after market iron sights that I can use in a pinch, because I love the red dot, it pounds nails a 500 yds no problem. I hear if you're rich you can get a nicad type that the cold doesn't affect, but they're like in the thousands and who has that for a scope?
