First of all- I learn so much about Alaska by just reading the posts on this forum. Thanks to everyone!!!
Every year my wife & I try to add one (or two) more aspects of fishing to our Alaska adventures. In 2010 it was flyout for silvers at Wolverine and sockeye in the upper Kenai. This year it is shrimping out of Whittier & lings out of Homer.
I have seen a few posts about lake trout fishing. Just wondering if there are any good places on the peninsula? Also, how do you fish for them? Can they be caught from shore or do you need a boat? We stay in Soldotna, so the closer to there the better.
Kenai, Skilak, Tustemena, Hidden, Trout, and Trail Lakes all have lakers in them......a boat will greatly improve your chances....look up some posts and threads on this forum and youll find all you need to know to start
Release Lake Trout
I like to use a lead line set up and troll for them with BIG spoons
kwik fish work good too with a white fish wrap. I would go with K16's.
