Thread: Arctic Cat Help?

    Default Arctic Cat Help?

I have ZL 500 AC that has yellow springs in both clutches. The RPM kick in of the drive clutch is about 4500 rpm. Fuel mileage stinks. I am wanting to re-clutch it to make it a lower geared pulling machine for hauling firewood, pulling light logs, hunting and trapping. I am not into speed at all. Any advice on spring colors? If any one out there has the combination you think I am looking for and want to swap clutches my machine has a little over 1200 miles on it.

The springs you have are Yellow/White primary and a yellow 2ndary.

Change the drive to a Red primary and just try changing the 2ndary to the 4th or 5th position.

Realize the sled may bog some at engagement, which with this spring should be down around 3500.

I will PM you tomorrow as I may have everything here to make the swap. If I do not have the Red spring I may have a Yellow/Green which will bring it down to around 4000. I have to get to my bag of tricks and see what I have left.
