Thumbs up Trail Report Winter Park Cabins Willow AK. 2/23/07

Good morning riding fans! Just finish grooming all the Willow area last night 520 fleet miles. Trails were pretty beat up after the 3 day weeekend.Temps are a little chilly here this morning 17 below but daytime is around 10 degrees, 2" of new snow at the beginning of the week and Tue. the wind blew pretty hard setting in a few drifts. The swamps are still a lot of fun! The rivers are freeways and Hatchers Pass is windblown and hard.
So from WINTER PARK CABINS and the WILLOW TRAIL COMM. get out and have fun!!!
We will be out taking the bumps so you don't have too!!!

    Default Snow Conditions

How is the snow around willow? Is it hard as a rock or can you still find some powder?

Very stiff snow. No new snow in a month now. Trails on the rivers are good for the most part, with just enough tore up pack to lube the slides. Swamps are go anywhere conditions, but not real forgiving on the cush. It has really settled out and gotten tight, with the recent temps, averaging -22 at night, some nights going to -26 on the rivers.
