Thumbs up Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet, Mat Su

The MatSu Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is holding their annual fundraising banquet on January 29, 2011 at Evangelo's Restaraunt in Wasilla. Space is limited and all tickets are sold prior to the event (NO ticket sales at the door!) If you want to support the RMEF and enjoy a night of good food, games, live and silent auctions, raffles and lots of chances at some great prizes, be sure to get your tickets before they are gone! To purchase tickets call Patti at 746-4714 or go to: https://events.rmef.org/shop.aspx to purchase online. If you want more information about the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and all they we strive to do here in Alaska and throughout the country, go to: http://www.rmef.org/

We are always looking for additional support through sponosors, donations and volunteers. If you would like to be a sponosor or donate items to the event, or for further information about how to join a committee, please contact Amber at 376-8839.

We greatly appreciate all those that lend their support to the RMEF and our banquet each year! See you at the banquet.

Got word, we added 1 more gun to the banquet. We are close to selling out, so be sure to get your tickets before they are gone.

Also, the Progressive tickets are nearly gone. If you want to get some, you better get on it quick.

It's shaping up to be another great event. Hope you all can make it.

See the original post for info on how to get tickets.

    Default List of Guns

Found out a few of the guns we are going to have. Here's what I know:

Smith and Wesson 500 S&W Mag
RMEF 2011 Edition, Henry Golden Boy .22LR
Winchester Model 1892 John Wayne 100th Anniversary Rifle, 44-40 WIN
    Tikka T3 Lite .270 WSM
Ruger Charger 10-22 with a scope and bi-pod
    Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun

Remington 700 SPS 7MM Remington Ultra Mag (This is the Progressive which is nearly sold out.) If you are an archery guy, this year we will also have the Hoyt bow option for the Progressive winner. The winner can decide which they want - either the bow or the gun. Kind of a new thing we got worked out.

Anyway, just thought if you were on the fence about coming, this might give you an idea of what we'll have. Only about 10 tickets left now for the banquet.

Also have a New Zealand hunt and an Africa hunt, sounds like we might get a Colorado hunt for antelope but not certain yet.

My uncle got lucky last night and won the 7mm UM. Looking for folks that have used the cartridge in AK and how they liked it. He currently shoots a 300 win mag, 338 win mag, and 375 win mag so he isn't real sure what bill the rifle will fit - but he is very excited about getting in on the Progressive raffle hunt (Colorado Elk Hunt).

( I got to stay home and remodel!!!)
