Thread: FNP 40, not Kel-Tec or Taurus

Default FNP 40, not Kel-Tec or Taurus

I usually know what I am looking for when I go to a store, but sometimes... After an altercastion with a street person at Freddie's, I decided I needed something for carry, again, having gotten complacent. I wanted to get a small 9 Mike, like a Kel-Tec or taurus, but after spending my usual enjoyable time at Great Northern Guns, I came away with an FNP 40 - 40 S&W, a full size gun, very nicely made and a better bet for stopping a problem. I got an excellent deal from the store and am very pleased. The fit and finish, inside and out is excellent, as I suppose should be expected from Fabrique Nationale, and I will get out to the range when the temps get into the upper 20s to see how it shoots. Thanks to the guys, especially Yog, at GNG, for a good deal.

Sounds like you went in for one thing and came out much better off thanks to GNG. Better gun, better round, and a good deal too! You will love the 40 everyplace but the cash register unless you roll your own, then it donít matter. I think itís the best automatic round yet for self defense.

I have had a couple of 40 S&Ws before and i agree that it is an excellent SD round. Thanks for the kudos for getting a good deal. Frankly, if it is FN, I always lean that way, having had older pieces manufactured by them and this seems to go the same way. I'll try to remember and let y'all know how it shoots. It's funny, there are a LOT of polymer framed heaters out there, but this one just seems, for lack of a better term, smoother than others I have handled. Have to get used to that DA trigger pull, but no problem. yeah, i roll my own, so. . . . thanks for the responses.

My only the copmplaint about the FNs is the fact that they went up about $100 in price. We used to get $399 for them, now we usually do them at $489 to $499.....

Thats if we can get them, they may have been discontinued in favour of the FNX

That is an excellent price for these now, and that means I got a great deal on this one. It came with 3 mags and I heard they actually came that way from the factory.
