No one will ever know. Way to many variables, bias, and "opinions" to say what single one is best. You can never really go wrong with a jewel or timney tho.

Just so happens timney drop ins are on sale at midway right now

I have only used aftermarket 2 stage triggers, never even gave single stage ones a thought. Good thread got me thinking!

I have experienced the single stage trigger on a AR-platform, and it is awesome.

It was on a RRA that Dan has at "Northern Security". It felt like 2.5 Pounds and crisp. They said it was $299.00 what I want to figure out is if a $179.00 Timney is very near as good as a McCormmick

I have a JP Enterprises single stage in my AR-15 that I really like. After I got an AR-10 I discovered I really dont like two stage triggers, I'm looking forward to getting a good single stage for it.

I could not remember what was on Dan's AR-15 till I heard the name, JP is what it was. Did you have to send the lower to JB or was it shipped to you.......?

Interesting.......As I think they said the lower needed to be shipped off. However after my last transaction I no longer trust them. It was a sweet trigger.

Triggers are easy to install. Unless you are having one modified, I see no reason to ship the lower somewhere. I also hear good things about Gissele and Jard triggers, but I have no personal experience with them.

I just put a Jard in mine. Very impressed for the price. It's not like a Jewel on my bolt guns, but a 1000% improvement from what was on there. I can't speak for how well it hold up yet though.

Hit up the AR15 section on 24hourcampfire.com

TWR and rost495 are VERY savvy when it comes to this stuff. Member rost495 shoots high power at a national level and has been featured in a few books....he knows what he's talking about....

There are quite a few triggers out there that will do any AR justice over the stock trigger. I personally Love my AR-Gold Single Stage and the JP as a good backup. My current favorite is the Gissele SD3G Trigger. Technically its a 2stage trigger but you can hardly tell. At first I thought it could be a hair trigger, but its nothing short of precision. The trigger breaks every time right on the nose and has an incredibly fast reset. When running in a 3gun comp I feel that it allows me to throw more rounds down range without having to think or worry about a smooth trigger pull... its always smooth.... Think of pushing a frosty mug across a counter top. After the initial push, it just glides right across (ball bearings also comes to mind)

When it comes down to selecting a trigger its hard to give an exact match to the shooter asking. Not all triggers are created equal but most (quality triggers) will be incredibly reliable and can be adjusted to break when you need it to. When it comes down to it, you'll need to decide for yourself. I know when I bought the JP I thought that was the best trigger until I bought an AR Gold, then that was the Best.... Then a Gissele SD3G came into my life and my perspective changed again. Bottom line, shoot as many triggers as you can and decide what fits you best. We can recommend the best of the best all day long, but it might not be best for you.

    Anyway, my favorite triggers go.

    1. Giselle SD3g
    2. AR-Gold
    3. Giselle DMR 2-stage (had to mention it)
    4. JP Comp

OK I'm not sure who you are mimicking here but to that person I would say in a down and out military operations situation the 2 stage maybe the trigger to have to ensure that your gun goes bang. Since I have no intention of crawling around in fish guts with any of my guns I'll remain 100% confident and satisfied with the single stage on my Rock River which breaks crisp and clean at 2.3 lbs. I have not seen an aftermarket trigger that is any better.

For the most part I am retired these days, however it would be worth a hard days pay just to watch some goofball crawl around in sand, water, mud and fish guts wiff his gun. Heck ya mind if we charge admission? I'll bring an extra lawn chair for ya 323 this sounds like fun!
