    Default Outhouses and Firewood

Let's have some fun. I thought it would be interesting if people provided pictures of their outhouses and how they store their firewood.

The blue tarp woodshed an Alaska classic. I have one just like it although I up graded this year to brown tarps. I'll have to scrounge some pictures of our log outhouse.

When I build my new cabin, I will upgrade to a better outhouse and woodshed. The only problem I have with my tarp is, if I don't keep an eye on it, the wind either blows it off or the ends freeze to the ground,LOL

I do, too. I keep thinking I should put the door back on, but it's awful nice having the view with it off.

just cause you live in the woods doesnt mean you gotta live like a animal, you could clean them places up and make um look nice.

I know what you mean. When I am in the "CHUNKA" I leave the door open, I have a view of the lake and mountains, at night, I have the stars and Norther Lights when they are out. It sure makes having an outhouse great.

I had a little sparrow come and land right next to my foot, and he just sat there for a bit before he flew away. Wouldn't have seen that with the door on and shut. :-) Plus with no door, you can see any bears coming.....from the front, anyway.

"Plus with no door, you can see any bears coming"......Absolutely, I can't count the number of times that has happened. I remember some years ago, I had a bear that kept me in the outhouse for 40min. LOL

Is that a full time remote cabin? That is a nice lawn you got.

You could go hunting out of it, while doing the AM business.

The Forest Service Salmon Lake cabin outhouse on POW would be even better to hunt out of.....no sides at all!

I used to own a cabin in Willow and this was my outhouse there. After having the toilet malfunction at my house, I kept telling folks "Coming home to a flooded bathroom and hallway makes me really appreciate my outhouse."
