Default Had to try the new boat out!

We finally got some decent weather down here in Kodiak and had to see if the new boat would catch some kings. Well it did not disappoint me. We trolled for 3 or 4 hours and picked up 3 kings and lost another one. The ranged from 15 to 27 pounds and put up a great fight, the smallest one came out of the water twice.

    Default New boat

It is a 37'x14' Allen marine catamaran. I got it down here late in 2010 and was able to get out and do a one day deer hunt and then again yesterday for the kings. What a difference going from 11kts to 24kts at cruise. It is fast, stable and handles the water really well. I think it will be a fish catching machine come summer. Here is also a couple pics of the deer I got in December.

Nice bucks! It's nice when they are down on the beach like that.

    Default New boat

Been waiting for better weather to get some new pictures but here is one the previous owner sent me. I have high hopes and so far so good. Lots of little upgrades planned for the winter and really looking forward to next summer.

Fullbush, wish I could make it up there as I love trolling for kings. I think I will have to many irons in the fire as I have a spring bear hunt lined out and lots of little upgrades I want to make on the boat before summer. If I can dig out all of the snow I might just have to go out trolling again tomorrow as the winds are forecast to be variable to 10.
