yup Hidden is solid.. the warm spell we just had made the surface a little funky, but there were folks fishing and I did see some blood on the ice next to a few holes...

Thanks Max. Love that lake. Blood on the ice is always a GOOOOOD sign.

Does Hidden have 'lakers' or just 'rainbow'? I've been thinking about giving it a try.

also some decent dollies in that lake as well. Lakers are there but they are very tough to find at times.

I've heard that H&F, Pedersen's book mentions that. I have yet to tie into one.

Some people routinely do very well on that lake. For me it has been hit and miss for lakers.

Ive fished hidden lake 3 times now....yea not many. the first time out, i caught a 10lb laker trollin a #4 mepps aglia white and red spinner off the back of the boat near the cliffs, it was awesome. Then I hooked into a dolly about 5lbs near the first point/ cove headed out from the dock, lost him 10 ft from the boat, right then my buddy hooked up and landed a beautiful 23" rainbow ( he also caught a nice 14" kokanee on the next pass thru). 2nd time didnt catch crap for 2 days, till i was headed back to the dock and hooked one in the first cove, on a #4 vibrax, he battled hard.....and he was only 12" long lol . 3rd time, I caught a big fat NOTHIN! Its a beautiful lake though and ill be goin back every summer. We always let our fish go there too because we know how fragile that fishery is.....next year i wanna target the kokanee more.

Wasn't much snow last Saturday; less than an inch on the south end.

Yes I bet it would be a near impossible feat but to tell the truth it was in the summer, just relating past experience. I have not ice fished hidden lake yet.
