I've seen lots of guys plowing with chains on the rear of their quad.
To get the best traction in wet snow, put those munchers on the front of your rig...world of difference!
Fullcurl: When we get snow in Ketchikan, it is always wet! We'll run chains on front and rear on our ATV's. Like you said, it's a world of difference.
this sounds very odd but...............I took short 1/2 inch wood screws and put them in 70% of the lugs on my tires. The difference with and without huge! Again, sounds funny but it works like the ice treads for your shoes---I can plow all day with snow on top of ice or melting ice and hardly ever loose traction
I have done this for 2 years and never hurt the tires
I use the chains on the back but I put about 100 lbs of extra weight on the back rack when I plow. I use screws in the soles of my hipboots when dealing with ice, it makes a world of difference.
