Default My Bet is In; 2nd Run Russian Reds

I booked my site for July 26-29th. It's always a shot in the dark for me. Any ideas how to better guess when the runs peak?

    Default reds

Pretty good bet. They really start pounding the weir around the first week of Aug, historically.

the run will peak 20 july a bout a week early. Total escapement will be around 85,000 fish, two total guesses
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Talking My educated guess... for what it's worth

I predict the run will peak when the bulk of the fish arrive.

And just like AKPM says, either there will be 85,000 fish.... or there won't.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

An interesting fact about the peak of runs: the peak occurs when the number of fish arriving are exactally 50% male and 50% females. So if you go fishing and you catch all bucks chances are the fishing will be good in a week but if you catch all hens the run is about over. Of course with a 3 fish russian limit thats not quite enough fish to tell.
