Nice King!!! Jeff, as always. We`ve been seeing some pretty good numbers, but not much for size yet. Maybe i`ll switch up my bait. Could you send one of those bad boys over about the 18th of march? (grin)

Wow, very impressive, especially for January. Up in Anchorage we are all sitting with our boats under tarps until April/May. Now someone gie me a good pitch for the wife to convince her that we should winter over in Kodiak instead of Hawaii when we retire. (I have a long time to figure this one out.)

Though they haven't confirmed it, I have kodiakcombo tentatively booked for the derby in march. I'd be willing to share my charter w/ you Dave. Heck I'll even let you stand up on the winners podium w/ me and Capt Jeff

Just heard on the radio that the commercial trollers are kicking butt right now. The top spots are 1) Sitka 2) Yakutat and 3) Petersberg/Wrangell. Apparently they are getting over $6.00/lb.

So if you live in those 3 areas get on out there and fish!

I'd make that the 19th since that's the day of the derby.

From what I heard the kings being caught in the gulf by the draggers are mostly Columbia river hatchery fish

I was getting $7 a pound in Dec. It should be higher than that now, unless they are flooding the market.

well you would know as well as anybody, so I guess I'm cautiously optimistic. They're only calling for a 10,000 catch for us. So if its a banner run and we start catching a lot they'll get all jittery and shut us down, because according to the Bio theres no way the computer forecast can be wrong. Scientists and scholars lack common sense ( don't tell nerka tho)
