Most of the time, the fastest way to find the owner is to make a call to the last number or two in the "recent calls" list and ask whoever answeres who showed up on their caller ID. Once you have the name/number, you can track it down quickly just using the phone book or contacting the phone carrier. If it's a smart phone, pull up the e-mail function (if it is not password protected) and just see who the "To" line goes to. Then, just e-mail that person if you can't find a phone number.
