    Great article on your hunt and the information on the 300 win mag. It is my favorite caliber also, a new 700 xcrII awaiting a scope. Good info on all the different loads, thanks. Mark

    very nice read!.. i too am a fan of the .300 WM.. i carry the ol ruger Mk II everywhere i go.

    If you are making reference to the area I hunted, it was the Apache National Forrest.

    I was, it looks a bit like the area above the Mogollon Rim. I camp there quite a bit in the summer. Lots of Elk and Mountain Lions around there.
