Way to go! Awesome pic. Your pup is thinking, "moma is a badaz!"

Showed my GF your pic, she's jealous now. Can't say enough about how cool that is, words just won't do it.

    Amazing.

Where in "remote interior" Alaska are you? How do you get internet remote?
Would enjoy a daylight pic of the wolf. Looked like a nice one.
Did you shoot the one wolverine in the head? That's 40-50 bucks down the drain for the green skull. Shoot them in the chest.
    I can't help being a lazy, dumb, weekend warrior.......I have a JOB!
    I have less friends now!!

    MT-

We're in the eastern interior close to the border... Wrangell-St. Elias Nat'l Preserve. Internet is via satellite dish with solar power system (diesel generator for backup, of course). It was -45F when we got the wolf, so didn't have the camera until we got home right at dusk, so unfortunately no daylight pics of him. Yes, had to shoot the wolverine in the head as he had ripped the drag off the trap, travelled about a mile from the set tearing up the country side as he went and managed to get up a thick spruce. Thankfully the hook caught on a lower branch so he couldn't go any higher. Teeth, claws and forehead were all that was visible. <grin>

Here's the best picture of the wolf, although still pretty dark.

He was a loner and although the first wolf I've seen up close and personal, he seemed EXTREMELY skinny. He measured 64" nose to tail and weighed 72 pounds. I too am 64" and pretty thin, but I have almost 30 pounds on him! Not sure he would have made it through the winter on his own.

Good job, that's a chilly kitty for sure. Did you get a weight on that one? It looks like a nice size female. They sure do like to move in the cold, I dropped one with the shotgun this Saturday at about -27F.
