Default Is it Legal? Marten Mount Finished!

Sorry just tring to be funny, just got my marten back. I was nervous about getting a marten mounted but clients
were always asking what a marten was, what they look like, etc so I figured why not. Most small animal mounts I see are terrible or look all too fake but this one turned out excellent IMHO. Beach marten as you can see by the color. Mounted by Mark Higgins, Double Shovel Taxidermy.

That is a great looking mount and I really like how you included an antler in with it instead of a piece of wood.

That turned out fantastic. Did you supply the antler?
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

No I didn't have to supply the antler he had some old ones laying around I guess he uses them a lot in mounts when folks want them. He did a fox coming down an antler once chasing a mouse (which he caught and skinned and mounted) that turned out awesome. I do like the second photo best should be a big hit at the cabins. Next mount is going to be a lifesize bear scratching its back on a spruce tree in my new lounge I am building. Now just got to get a bear worthy...

Definitely less than full-curl, though it may be broomed. Not a good enough picture to tell for sure. Guess I'd have to give this one a pass in the woods, let it grow another year so it can reach it's true trophy potential.

Turned out awesome! I thought it was a rabid fox squirrel at first (kidding). Really cool color on it. Mark sure comes up with some cool and unique mounts!

Marten look pretty B.A. without the hide too!

I swear this animal must have been the inspiration for that creature that pops out of the guys stomach in Aliens.
