Default Is a spear considered a line in the water?

Can you use your full set (up to legal limit depending on area) and still spear? Or is your spear counted against your full set? I sent a message to the Ask The Troopers, but if can be answered here, it will probably be a bit faster! I can't seem to find anything about it counting in the regs, but maybe I'm missing something. Just don't want to finally get a reference on it via a fat ticket! Nor do I want to only have one tip-up out when I could have two out and still chucking the pitchfork on Nancy Lake.

Any insight to this would be greatly appreciated!
Although some can call it Catchin', I still have to call it fishin'.

No a spear does not count as a line so long as your decoy doesent have any hooks attached to it.
I have had the troopers check me before while spearing and having max allowed tipups out.

No hooks on the decoy, so I should be clear! However, I'm still asking the troopers so I have a name to go with the answer in the event someone else has a different interpretation! Last year, I played it safe and reduced the set by one line, but like I said when at Nancy Lake, that cripples a guy!

You can spear and fish with multiple lines only if the lines are closely attended. It's kind of hard to see your tip-ups from inside the spearing shack.
Your bait stinks and your boat is ugly
