    Default Raft Sledding

    So has anyone ever taken their cataraft sledding before? I plan to next week, I did it a couple of years ago and it was alot of fun.

    Yep... the inflatable kayaks, canoes, and rafts make great sleds or tugs... Cats are really unsafe tho' for sledding (I'd just band the two tubes together without frame).

    As a kid, I'd kayak the ice and snows several of 3 mile routine go down the mountain to the bus stop in the mornings. Bummer draggin' it back up tho'!!!

    Keep in mind... the momentum that builds up sledding by raft is serious and can be very dangerous down hills or behind vehicles and snowmobiles.

    Also possible to do some costly damage in more extreme temps and under certain circumstances!

    I'll wax the bottom of one of my plastic kayaks, and will give the driver a copy of the film.

    Yaw...them rafts get going very fast and hard to stop...amazing what we used to do on a ski slope while judgement was impaired...wear something hard outside your brain.
