    Default Shooter or Not Shooter

I love these threads as much as the next guy and didn't want to hijack someone elses. I agree that a sticky or thread dedicated to this topic would be cool. Until then, post your guesses. Hopefully, this fall I'll have this one down and I can report back on his actual size.

    Fall of 2011 that is...ha.

Here is another shot of him having enough of me grunting and cow calling trying to get him to come closer.

Absolutely a shooter, no question. 60"+

On a side note, we're working on a function that will allow us to practice our skills at judging width. It won't be a traditional thread, but it will serve the same purpose.

That function will be cool BrianM.

I will say that this bull is in Unit 13 so its SF, 50" or 4 brow tines, and for me, not being a good judge of size and only hunting Any Bull in 20C, I'd be nervous as heck to pull the trigger unless I saw 4 brow tines. I'm just saying....

Appears to be over 60" easy enough...suspect it's sn old bull past his prime. He has less palmation than a prime 60"+ would have.

Good observation. I was thinking that his palms seemed a bit narrow.

And the fact that he would not come any closer for a better photo probably means I need to work on my calling techniques.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have a huge smile on my face when reading them, and its almost like being congratulated for actually harvesting the moose. Almost. The things we do in the winter for entertainment.

That is a moose I would take a shot at without caring too much about counting brow tines, he is wide enough without question

You can stand there and ponder it all you want but if I am standing next you I suggest you do it with your ear protection in!

WOW, this is the first thread in while that everyone agrees on. I have to say that it would be all over but the man hugging and the back slapping.
