    Default Yentna River

Mon Dec 13.. Just arrived at The Luce''s Lodge on a fuel run from the Deshka landing. The trail is good but caution is advised as always. I hauled four 55 gallon drums ( two skids with two drums each) and had no trouble. Don't stop for tea and crumpets in low areas or the smooth places--wait for a sand bar unless you know the river. Good trail and I was going 20 to 30 most of the way. The lower Yentna is a little bumpy for the first couple of miles. I will try to groom from here to Scary tree this week as well as put out some survey stakes.
    See you soon---Dave Luce

My neighbor from Onestone called me last weekend. 2 feet of new snow but the ice was poor below the snow. He said the Skwentna was still open at Skwentna proper. I'd call the Skwentna Roadhouse or Talview for update before heading up.
