Thumbs up Broke it in right!

My son and i accompanied Akmud and his son for some hard water fun and to break in his newly built mansion. what a sucess. let me start of by saying thanks to Akmud for letting us join him on the maiden voyage. The day got started off quick. while tending to the kids to get their poles in the water i hapened to glance over and see Rob's pole make a run towards the hole i grabed it and landed a nice char. shortly after that Rob hooked up and then his son and then my son. 4 nice char within an hour. we also caught some lil cohos and a nice lil rainbow to finish the day. lukes fish measured out to be a 26 incher, biggest fish ive seen pulled out of the ice. kids had a blast and made some great memories. here are some pics from the adventure. Akmud will post the rest later. Enjoy.

Over by the haunted island on the north side. I would have stopped when I went by but I was losing daylight fast and wanted to get in on the bite. I had a burbot on but i lost it coming thru the hole, not very big, maybe 18"

Wow, what a catch. That does look like a lot of fun. Do you eat those things? I wish we could do that down here, but something tells me I'd end up fishing for my truck!

Awesome Pics! I am planning on getting into ice fishing big time this year, and Big Lake is going to be one of my main destinations....

My question is, I know bait is illegal in Big Lake, so how do you fish for burbot? Are you just jigging a spoon? Are you allowed to chum? Are treble hooks allowed in big lake?

Anyways, awesome pics, it really make me get the urge to go out
