Default Ice fishing in the Valley

Im looking to do some ice fishing this winter and wanted to know of any good lakes in the valley. I fished in Anchorage last winter and never caught anything bigger then 8in. Im looking for something a little bigger then that.
    thanks

Check out the site at this link - Lake Charts You can find a list of all the stocked and wild lakes as well as depth charts for the lakes so you can find the holes. Also, read up on the reports in this forum. A lot of guys post about their trips and you can glean a lot of information from them.

    Good luck!

several anchorage lakes have been restocked with large fish this last summer and the ice fishing has been awesome....its up to you to research the lakes page and figure out which ones....in the valley id recommend big, wasila, lucille, kepler bradley, canoe, irene, reed, meirs, long on the glenn, weiner on the glenn, ruby lake up above sutton, memory lake and flat lake. do your research on the stocked and wild lakes maps youll find somethin and try to diferent baits and lures....my favorite is a leech jig if you read my thread " finally got out and did sum fishing" youll find a good tip.

Two of my favorites are matanuska and finger lake. Both have given me some hawgs over the years. And those fish are to my knowledge still in that lake, i catch and release, no sense in spoiling it for the next guy...
