Default Just got the first critters off the line today...

We got Five sets out this past Saturday, went in and checked em on Monday with nothing but some fresh sign in the area.Went in this evening and the first set we came on had a big ol' female lynx caught by two paws.A quick report from the .22 and she was ours.We went on down the sets and the last one held a really bright red fox.Hope the season goes on just like that all year!

Does that Lynx have a lot of fleas? I haven't caught any Lynx yet this year but all three foxes that we caught last weekend were filled with them.

Congratulations on the successful trapping. That's a big female Lynx and beautiful Fox. Your family looks pretty happy about your catches too. Keep up the good work and keep us updated, I need all the motivation I can squeeze from these types of threads to help me go out in the cold stuff.

Ahhhh, the classic rookie mistake. NEVER hang a lynx around your neck, lol. You may not see the fleas but they are there! Good looking cat, looks like they are finally starting to prime up. Good job!

Thanks for all the kind words...We did throw both of them in trash bags and sprayed some raid to kill the "fleas".I had to do a little talking into puting it on the wifes shoulders...We caught them on #3 leg holds had some left over hares and ducks for bait and some oriental fish sause for scent...seems to work but we will see how it goes.

I made the mistake of hiking out a mile with my lynx around my neck, got home put it in the freezer and was gettin ready to hop in the shower when a flea came crawling out from behind my ear and ran down the side of my cheek.
