    Default alaska goat tag

    Hi
Can a nonresident obtain a goat tag for
kodiak island through a registration hunt instead of a lottery draw?

    Thank You

Yes, unless the hunt is coded for residents only. You still have to hire a registered guide.
If cave men had been trophy hunters the Wooly Mammoth would be alive today

It sure looks like a definite Yes from this link,

    http://www.wildlife.alaska.gov/regul.../pdfs/gmu8.pdf

the B at left indicates "Both" Resident and Nonresident for area 480, open for registration hunt which is a Pick it Up at the F&G office kind of thing, you'll need a guide tho as a nonres, right?
Could be spendy but a good hunt if you're tough and/or hungry enough

Good Luck if you get up here to do it
