Default Free campgrounds on the Kenai Peninsula

When i grew up in Alaska back in the sixties free places to camp were everywhere from state campgrounds to pulloffs along side a road. Now its pretty hard to find free campspots. But for the road system campers the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge down here on the Peninsula still has a few spots and they are listed here.

The upper Kasilof boat launch area accessing tustumena lake is another free one.

Please add to this thread if you are aware of others.

Thanks for the info T.L. We'll look into that next August!

Now, how's that expression go about remembering the 60's? LOL!

Here's the gang of campers (minus the photographer) - early November Maine moose hunt
