    Default Thompson barrel/frame compatibility

I own a blue framed T/C Contender with several blued barrels. I want to buy a 14 inch .358 JDJ which has a stainless steel barrel. The T/C site says these barrels are interchangeable but was wanting to know if anyone of you knew if this was true. Thanks

I have seen some pics of blued guns wearing stainless barrels but I am not a TC guy.

Yes, the are interchangeable. Just make sure the barrel is for a contender (assuming that is what you have) and not a G2 or Encore.

Also, JD does an armour coating that won't fit well on a standard frame.

    Love the TC's!!

Just as 1buba says, so long as the stainless barrel is a T/C Contender barrel it will interchange regardless if it is made of stainless or chrome moly (blued). Been there and done that. The 358 JDJ is a great performing cartridge, but is quite a handful. I hope you enjoy it immensely.

A great guy and a personal friend. No one knows TC's like him.

Thanks to all, sounds doable and probably painful, but I have always wanted to hunt up here with a handgun and the 358 JDJ sounds like the trick.
