Awesome hunt! This one is high on my list of 2-do's!
Looks like a great trip! Thanks for posting.
The video of that huge herd of elk looked cool enough to make the whole trip. I never would have imagined the mountains over there being that steep, definitely looks like it would take some work to get an elk over there.
awesome video, thanks for sharing
Thanks a bunch, good sync on the tunes to go with. Looks like easier country than S.E. elk. Congratulations!
Even a jackass won't stumble on the same stone twice.
Way to go fellas!
It looked some serious fat on that carcass - enjoy and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your video that was awesome!
How come you didnt shoot a bull? looked like a good oppurtunity. Was it just for meat?
Just curious, glad you had a succesfull hunt.
Sweet! Would like to go down there myself and film. Thanks for posting the video.

Well done video. Really neat seeing those elk in the open like that. For some reason I thought yhose Afognak elk hid in the brush like rabbits. Congrats!
Nice! Looks like a fun trip! Great video!

Was that Mr. Sirofchuck from Chugiak High? He was my AP English teacher 25yrs ago!!!
Yes, IceKing, it is I, your beloved AP teacher from oh, so long ago. I'm on Facebook if you'd like to connect.
We were there for meat, not trophies. It was all we could do for five of us to get all the meat from two cows to the boat by dark; weather was coming up and we had to get out of there. If we'd have shot bulls, I don't think we'd have been able to get all the meat back that same day. Then we would have to either hike up and down mountains in the dark or cache the meat with an electric fence and hope it wouldn't be too rough to get back on the beach the next day - or whenever the seas calmed down. Two cows for five guys was perfect for that particular place and time.
nomotor, that's a really nice video, looks like a great time and great success, Congrats and Thanks for posting
I'm curious, Did you guys get an approx weight for a Cow Elk, #of packs maybe, to meat wrapped and frozen? Looks like you guys took it down bone on right?
Thinking of chasing down a Cow next year, that meat is incredible isn't it?
I may prefer it to any other I've had from wild game, (shot a Bull on Raz this year, thoroughly hooked now)
I'd share the same #'s from Bull but I lost a considerable amt to Bear trouble,
got maybe 35% and it was a tremendous amount of meat.
