Default Boating to Galena and beyond for moose

I am in the process of putting together a boat with the specific use of doing this moose hunt in 2008 and for shallow water salmon fishing. Boat will be the Woodridge 20 foot Alaskan II and the motor will most likely be the Yamaha 150 jet. Woodridge tells me the prop should be able to be fitted back to the motor and it will be just a tiny bit high but will be fine for the long haul.
Any other suggestions on how to set up this boat? There will be 2 adults in it making the trek (my son and I). I have a year and a half to plan so I might as well start now purchasing whatever gear we will need that pertains to the boat. We plan on putting in at the haul road bridge and running up into the Koyukuk.
    Thanks

Sounds like a plan to me. Company is always good as there is safety in numbers. I live in Eagle River and am an old geezer (54),

    Default old geezer

My definition of an “old geezer”
    No teeth
    No hair
    No sex

    Glad I’m not 54. (grin)
I’m a young 66. I had sex last night. Yes, with my wife.

fit it with 300 gallons+ of gas tanks, you're gonna need it.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Smile Hmmmm

    Rutting Moose,

I am glad to hear you are still in rut...but a bit too much information!

    Randy,

You might want to contact Scott from Glacier Craft. I was talking to him during the boat show and our conversation digressed to Koyukuk moose hunt. He has built a boat for himself just for Koyukuk trip and has made a few runs up to Huslia, etc. I am sure he can get you some good information about boat set up for the trip, etc. If the price is right, may be he can build a boat for you as well. Good hunting.

    Regards,

    yhc
