Default Picture on my beaver line

I went out this afternoon to check out a couple of beaver houses. This boy was munchin' on lunch when I got there. I sat under a tree for probably 30 minutes watching him.

I hit the wrong button can one of the mods move this to trapping

They sure are fun to trap, but skinning them sucks the big one. Well with it though!

I learned how to clean skin them. Much easier.

Cool pic Hiline. I usually try to take a couple a year for pelt, bait, and a little to eat (maybe one meal a year!)

I try to clean skin them too..and I actually enjoy it. I just hate fleshing beavers..that said, it takes me a while to clean skin one...I'm probably down to about two hours total - carcass to plywood...which is pathetic to anyone who traps any amount of beavers!! The beaver mitts I've given as gifts, I dont think the reciever truly appreciates how much elbow grease goes into making that pelt usable...LOL

Nice pic Chuck. Our favorite game meat right there.

I clean skin them as well, still it takes me a good 2 hours to get a large hide off the carcass and on the hoop. I guess you can say I need more practice before my clean skin time is under an hour.
