    Default Non-Electric Engine Pre Heaters?

    Does anybody know anything about the heater in this picture? What do you use in the bush with no elec? Thanks

    It's called a Northern Companion. A stainless pipe with an MSR XGK-II stove burning inside with the hot exhaust ducted into the cowl. It all packs up into the pipe for travel.

    I carry a 1000w generator and plug in. Then I go sit someplace warm while the preheater does it's thing.

    Their fairly expesive. I made my own with 4" pipe choked down to 3" and some scat tubing. Built a base out of P-tex and used my own stove. At -20 it takes about an hour.
