    Default Whitter Report

Well, I finally made it out today. The weather was Whitter weather WET!!! But water was flat. Well we got to our secret spot. At first not much to see, then we say ducks everywhere. Goldeneyes everywhere and a few Harliquens. We laid out decoys and it was 2 mintues we had ducks flying in. A few mintues later we got a big surprise. A Old Squaw came in!!!!! What a treat. Had a great time. Took me a month to get it but it was well worth the wait. Harliquens.jpgGoldeneyes.jpg

Nice job! Looks like the birds are getting some good colors on them already. Should be just in time for my trip to Cordova the second week of November!!!!!!

Nice looking birds. Worth getting wet for.

Were they fully feathered / suitable for taxidermy?
I shot a couple goldeneyes in the interior about his time last year and taxidermist didn't think they were worth mounting yet.

Wife got a goldeneye 2 weeks ago. Want an honest taxidermy to tell me whether it is worthy to mount....anyone got more pix?

How far out did you have to run Gary?

I sent mine to Corey at Northern Wings Taxidermy in North Pole. His website appears to be down, but you should be able to google a phone number. I don't have any first hand experience with his work, because he recommended NOT doing my birds even though I thought they looked good. He even shipped them back to Eagle River on his own dime. Based on my experience, I would at least say he's honest!
