    Default king salmon By-Catch factor in low run numbers?

    Saw this in the paper this morning. Wonder if its a factor or contributor for all the low king counts the last couple years?

    There is a similar story in the ADN. http://www.adn.com/2010/10/24/1517044/bycatch-of-king-salmon-by-trawlers.html it seems to me that I read an article in Alaska magazine within the last two years that was talking about the low numbers of pollok in the industry. I wonder if they are looking in different areas or are trying new things that might put more salmon in their nets.
