Default I should have sprung for the lodge

I took my boy as his first big game hunt and we tent camped. It was a little on the chilly side for a 5 year old. I didn't cut my tag but we helped a guy butcher and pack out his cow, he was nice enough to let us pose for a photo. The kid was a trooper, I'll bet he hiked 4 1/2 miles.

Matt, that's a really nice bull! I think that's the one you guys were supposed to save for me! heh heh!

Scott, great pic! We have a 7 yr old and he's itching for me to get back so I can take him out to let him shoot one! Nothing is better then taking kids hunting! Great job on him hiking 4.5 miles!

well jake. if i had wanted to WORK, yeah...

mine as nearly a mile off the road on the east west side of the sue... had i left the kids in the truck all morning i would have been done in 23 minutes, but we did a dozen stalks... watched a few dozen get dropped and pointed more out to folks and chuckled as they headed over the edge into the CUA.

Nice pic with the kid Scott. My 4 year old son is dying to get otu and hunt for bear, bou, and moose with me. I can't wait to get him onto his own first big game. He is really big for his age so I'm hoping it won't be many more years. Does anybody know what the legal age is for taking his own or qualifying for his own tags vs. using my tag? I think its ten but I am not sure Anyway I love seeing other dads taking there kids out for hunts, especially in the tent. Its good for him and will give him experience and bragging rights later on.

UNDER TEN. they can hunt for you.. ten and older they need their own tag.. talked to the trooper at length aobu tit on wednesday also when my tag got here... if i had time i could have transfered it and had a new tag issued to one of the 12 year olds with me.. but i could NOT let them shoot it for me... though my nine year old could have.
