Haven't heard anything about Eureka yet. Everyone and their brother is heading to Denali on the Paxson side and Lake Louise, at least that's what I've read in the other threads.

There are a lot of caribou moving behind eureka. No report of any large groups but lots and lots of small bands traveling. Hope this helps.

It is nice to know that there are "ALASKANS" out there, no matter where they live.

I went yesterday and got a big one. 5 miles off the Denali Hwy and caribou running everywhere. I was patient through the shopping phase and saw about 500 caribou before I dropped mine at 250+ yds.

    How was the meat?

My buddy mack-daddy'd a cow at the other end of the road, to avoid ruttiness, if that's a word.

I can't tell the difference. No bad smell or odor of any kind. He does have some cool scars and stuff from his rut battling.
