Default No Fobs & not very big but still will be tasty

Hunted the haul road this fall & had a 45yd shot just after sunset on the other side of the sag & I choose to pass. I've been second guessing myself every since. However, my ace in the hole was the base moose hunt which started last Friday.
Got this young guy tonight, not the biggest but after a few days of not seeing anything but a cow & calf I was happy to take him. Just settled in to watch an area I had been in the last 3 days & was thinking of trying somewhere else when he quietly walked by @ 30 yds. Calling & brush thrashing has produced zero in the last few days, so I guess it was just being in the right place at the right time.

Nothing wrong with him, I would have been happy to take him too! Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done Sir! First moose I have seen from up there. We saw sign in 08, but no tags and never tried to pattern them. How long you been up there?

    akrstabout,
I was out Friday evening, all day on Sat & Sun, Mon with a short break during midday, & Tues & Wed evenings.
I will give you a call tomm or Sat, as I would like to hear more about your sheep hunt.

Awesome! That, sir, is a fine bull and I would not hesitate to take one like it. I've been wondering about the base hunts. Glad to see that someone made it happen.

Don't worry about no FOB's, vanes have worked for millenia and will continue to do so. Nice moose, fine eating.

Way to go, Marmot! Now that your hunt is over we can get you away from those nasty vanes.

You're right, that will be a tasty bull for sure! Congrat's!
