    Default Anyone in SE/Ketchikan

So I have a week long steelhead trip planned for this Sat the 23rd but out float pilot just called and said that with all the rain the rivers are all blown out and un-fishable. I was wondering if anyone else who lives down that way can give me some first hand info? How has the weather been recently? Any reason to believe the rain will slow down? How long do your short, coastal rivers take to become fishable after a blowout?

Up here in the mat-su its normally a few days before you can fish again, I am just trying to figure out if we should cancel or not.

    Thanks,

    Matt

The weather this week doesn't look terrible so the rivers will come down some. But it looks like more rain this weekend so it's kinda a toss up. Depending on the river size and what feeds them it can take 12 hrs or 3 days for the water to come down. With more rain in the forecast they will be up and down. Probably pretty muddy.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Ditto, in the past 10 days we have had 12.2 inches of rain. It'll take a bit of time to come down to normal.

Thanks guys. We were planning on fishing the Naha. If you have any more input as the week goes on would really appreciate it as we have to decide whether or not to go in the next 2-3 days.

According to the fish creek guage the flow is dropping rapidly and will be back to normal soon at this rate. Just wondering if you guys down south are seeing the same thing.

I'm the other guy going on the trip with Armo by the way.

Sorry, but I haven't heard how the river is looking at all.
