you want ballpark, so, I'll say Late fall. Brownies typically stay up later than blacks (and wake up sooner)

Where in this state are you talking about?

    Which type of bear?

What is the weather like in this scenario on, say, Sep 10? Sep 25? Oct 5? Oct 20? Nov 1?

Given current warm trend would be surprised if many bears int 14/13/16 and probably 20 were in bed yet, or even thinking about going to bed for several more weeks.

    gotta get some snow first.

Ive seen Bears out till about the lower 20's and Teens, then they , for the most part are gone.....and then only occasionals out later in winter, for their various reasons.....

I never hibernate, I'll never really know~~LOL!!~~ Polar Bears dont hibernate till the females go to land to den up some babys....they caught one here 3 or 4 years ago doing that......

It was just a general Q but lets say black bears on k-penn are around gmu 14's. I just want to see the responses and public opinion on the subject. Maybe the latest anyone has ever dropped one, latest anybody has seen them out and about schtufff like that

when they totaly run out of things to eat, and that would be close to the den now. They do get up in the middle of the winter once in a while to sniff the air, smell something and snows not bad they will go look. each one is different so no date can be set nor predicted
