has anyone been to the ATA's trapping course found at the above link?
I'm gonna go, first off, to learn some new skills to put in my pocket and, secondly, it looks like a good man weekend away.

Have you been? What have I got myself into?
Thank you, God, for making so many wonderful creatures. Thank you, not only for that, but also for making them out of meat!

I think you'll come away extremely satisfied.
    I can't help being a lazy, dumb, weekend warrior.......I have a JOB!
    I have less friends now!!

I called the number on the form today and asked Randy some questions. Aside from the basics there will be an F&G trooper there to field questions and an Arctic survival guy from Eielson to talk a little about that sort of stuff. Also, the class will actually check a permitted trap line on the grounds. Aside from that, they will go over some ethics in trapping and other basics.
You do not need a trapping license to participate in the class.
The cost of attendance includes 1 year membership, a manual, a dvd, both friday and saturday nights stay, if you want to come early on friday night, and the meals while you're down there.

I'm looking forward to learning about this age-old art and seeing if it's something I could really sink my teeth in.
Thank you, God, for making so many wonderful creatures. Thank you, not only for that, but also for making them out of meat!
