Question Sitka Black Tail Charters - Prince William Sound, Seward, Homer?

Looking for referrals on someone to get me and a buddy out to chase some Sitka-Black-Tails.

Know a few folks with boats, but no one willing to take us out in Nov / Dec (weather / sea concerns). Not looking for the $5,000 fully catered trip. Basically looking for a water taxi ride.

Any sugesstion and experiences would be appreciated. Also would be interested to know what folks have paid so we can work out the $$.

    Thanks!

there's a very good reason no one is willing to take you out in a boat during that time frame

the tolerable weather windows for flying PWS are many November days measured in minutes, as in often not long enough for the pilot to safely fly out and back. multiply time of travel in a boat by, say, 10, and you need an awfully nice weather window for the boat to get out there, and then back. Odds of a boat pulling anchor out there in november are virtually guaranteed if you park it somewhere for any length of time.

Anyone depending on small boat transport that time of year in that part of AK waters is borderline suicidal.

Give Matt Cline at "Aquetec" a call. Great guy, reliable service, reasonable rates, etc.
