    first moose we saw, 6 days of being very wet. did not see one caribou. battled the bears to keep the meat, they got some of it

    That rack looks positively HUGE in the second pic...

    Sorry about the meat loss, but at least you got out with most of it. Where the bears coming into camp to raid or trying to stake claim to your kill site?

    one night they got into the meat, we put the meat next to the tent. the next night we stayed up all night and chased off sow and cub, big boar and teenager hit him with a can of fruit

    I got this rule...No bears in camp.

    we are residents, i did not have a bear tag. just living by the rules

    I don't believe you need a tag in unit 23, I just returned from a hunt off the Noatak and I verified with the biologist that sealing afterwards is all that's required. Great looking moose, what was his spread?

    the moose is 69 inches, i had to rent a whole igloo on alaska airlines, next time i will cut the skull down the middle

    we were walking and spotted him, he saw us first, i could not get a good look at first so we walked around him and he was 70 yds away and i saw him again and he was looking right at me. shot him with 300 mag

    Thats an awesome moose! Sorry to hear about the loss of meat with the bears and good job keeping them from getting anyore of it.
