    Which is better for silvers? Crazy I know but, I've never tried the hairball leech for silvers. I've always done just fine with a standard issue ESL.

    Standard ESLs work great for silvers. I do enjoy the hairball though. They seem to work very well for kings. Anything with a lot of motion and maribou works good for both.

    I thought it would have to do with the weight? Most hareball leeches are body weighted to get down deep or help when the current is swift.

    MOAL/String/Hareball leach more fun to tie + more action = winner in my book

    Though you really can't go wrong with a standard ESL in most cases.

    Egg sucking hareball leeches seem to be more durable, but that may be more related to my tying abilities. The articulated egg sucking hareball leech is fun to tie, durable, and it's got a nice action.

    An AESHL in chartreuse/black got this guy last week on Kodiak:
