    Default ice in eyes

    just got back from dcw fishing is slow but still fun took mr 7hrs at the mouth to catch 3 silvers and 2 ling forgot the camera but will bring it when i head down next weekend. i was having to de ice my eyes every 10min is there anything you can do to keep ice from forming on the eyes.

    I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Years ago we used Scotchguard. Didn't stop the ice necessarily, but made it easy to shake out. I've heard that Pam works well, but needs reapplication several times a day. Secondhand account, though.

    Anyone ever tried coating the eyes in mineral oil or some sort of heavy cooking oil? Same idea as Pam, might be worth a try.

    Heard lip balm works, never tried it though.

    I don't know THE answer but you might try some fly floatant... I've heard Pam cooking spray works too (if it does a tiny container of cooking oil would do the same and may be more convienant. I don't miss carrying bug dope this time of year and wouldn't like carrying a can of Pam too much.

    As a life long Great Lakes Steelheader I have tried cooking spray, chapstik etc.
    But the best product I have used is Stanley's Ice Off Paste.
    Coat your guides the night before for best results.
