    Default CCW Class in Fairbanks?

My parents are leaving to South Carolina to spend the winter there, and I'd like for them to get their CCW before they go since SC recognizes AK permits. They leave at the beginning of October. My guess is that it's probably too late for them to get a permit before they leave, but just in case I'm wrong, what classes in the Fairbanks area would be best for them to take? Also, if they take the class and then apply for the permit before they leave, can the permits be shipped to them while they're living in SC? They're only going to be there until next March, then they're moving back, so they will remain AK residents.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, but like I said, it's for my parents who will be spending the winter in South Carolina.

Well I made an appointment for Joe Nava's class this weekend. Anyone ever taken a class from him before? What should my parents expect and/or prepare for?

My wife took his class a couple years ago. Here's what she says... "Just show up, it'll be a great class. The last day you do some shooting. You can bring your own gun and use Joe's ammo or, you can use Joe's guns and ammo. Joe takes your pics for the CCW and you fill out the paperwork meticulously line by line with Joe's instruction . You take it to the troopers, write them a check and that's it. You'll have fun and he's INSISTENT on safety. He has eye's in the back of his head "

I took Joe's class a few years back as well. I highly recommend it and be there on time. He'll put on a great class.
