    Default The Alaska spirit lives

It is nice to see that the honestly and helpfullness of Alaskans is still present. This past weekend my son and his friend were going back into our moose camp at night when they experienced a broken axle on one of the meat wagons about 30 miles from the trailhead. they removed all the camping gear in it, left a business card inside and left it beside the trail hoping to retrieve it on the way out when we had more resources to fix it or carry in on top of another trailer. BTW this was an expensive walking beam trailer. Three days later we retuned to no trailer but could see where it had been rolled into the trail again. One of the mining camps said they had seen a trailer lilke it leaving on the back of a rig. My wife and I, both lifelong alaskans had assured him all weekend that it would still be there as the vast majority of Alaskan hunters were honest and helpful, but this dashed our confidence. Well low and behold Tues morning we get a call that a gentlemen from Wasilla had the trailer. He was back there with a Hagland and felt if we were on 4 wheelers we would have trouble retrieving it, saw the business card and decided to put it on top of his rig and bring it out. ( we had the Mudd-ox so we could have got it out but his generosity was very helpful). He would not take anything for his time and effort other then some advice on where he might be successful hunting in the area as he was unfamiliar with. It is nice that people still care and that the Karma you achieve helping others comes around to help you when needed.

Ditto, way cool. I needed to read this after reading the thread about the machines stolen from Hartley's as mine is there now for servicing (not one of the stolen ones thankfully).

No doubt. Good to hear some positives now and then...
