    Default Picture attachment problems/.

Why are the pics failing to show for so many posters?

Instead of the pic, I see "attachment (some number) "

    What's the scoop?

Not sure what the issue. I've passed this along to one who knows more than me, so hopefully we can get it resolved.

Yeah I noticed that my attachments are showing up either they are a link. And links are less likely to be followed.... example:

    http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/...grouse-habitat

My post #10 should show a picture of my dog and a grouse instead it has a link. The link does work but it doesn't have the same readability in my mind.
I'm going to ctrl-alt-delete you so hard your mama's computer is going to reboot.

There is one option when attaching pics whether to put inline or as an attachment. Maybe that's the difference.

(In the computer biz, that's called "operator error").

Try experimenting with both of those options to see which works as you intend maybe?

For the first time in my forum history, I cannot post a pic today. I'm doing everything precisely the same as I have done in recent days, months, and years. I do the "From URL" option, past a Photobucket link in, and it says that I "have exceeded my quota by 26.0 KB." What's up with that? I tried it four different times, and it game the the same message (though the number sometimes changes--sometimes it's 13.5 KB).

A forum where people can't post pics is pretty worthless.

Maybe you have exceeded your photobucket bandwidth limit.
    Testing, testing 123.

    Seems to be working

In the new image uploader you will see a check box that is normally checked when you go to upload a pic from a URL. The checkbox forces the software to "reference the image locally". This means download it to your account (which has a limit) so the image is now stored on our local server. If you uncheck that box it will just link to image stored on the remote server (like photobucket)

This is the header done using the insert tool with the "reference image locally" box checked:
    Attachment 40191

Here it is again with the box "unchecked":

If this helps you hit the Star icon in the lower left hand corner of the post and let me know!

I tried, but it says I have to "spread some reuputation around some before giving it to [you] again. Aren't you supposed to help people just because it's the right thing to do anyway?

This leads me to the other question of how many people does one have to rep between repping the same person twice?

I'd caution you on repping moderators too much, I hear that the one you give to them comes out of your total.

I believe the answer to your question if 20 reps.

I do help just cause it's the right thing to do, but it never hurts to get some feedback! BTW, that is a great looking bear!! It would have been a shame to not get that pic up on the board!

Don't worry about where the rep comes from, when I run out of rep points to give I just snag some from King! I figure before he notices he will post another joke thread and people will lavish him with their excess.

I think I'll try that, maybe it'll work.
