    Default October Halibut

We're trying to plan an early October halibut trip out of either Homer or Valdez. Have never fished them that late. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

I can't speak for Valdezeez (sorry Valdez people, I couldn't help myself), but I'll be out in Kachemak Bay just about every day during October that the weather allows looking for halibut and "winter" kings. I don't know if they have much winter king action over that way, but we sure do down here. How can you beat a salmon/halibut combo in October!? Oh...I know. Drop the crab pot on the way out and come home with a couple of kings, a couple of halibut and 4 crabs!
