Default King Goes Float Hunting or There And Back Again by kingfisherktn

A year sure goes by fast. As I sit here surrounded by too much stuff, sorting out, bringing it back, throwing it out again then deciding I have to have it before we get on the ferry tonight I reflect back to last September when I asked my two sons if they wanted go on a 2 week float hunt with the head of the clan. Of course they told me YES! Then they asked who was the head of the clan? After I told them Dad, they still wanted to sign on.

Our first order of business was to pick a 4th partner to make rowing 2 boats a little easier and to help spread out the expenses. Both sons said no problem on finding a fourth. After a couple of weeks of "I really want to go, but..............." they exhausted their friend so I find a 4th after a couple days of trying.

Our next item on our list to take care of was to find a remote river and to decide if we wanted help in all this planning .................................................. ..................
    .................................................. .................................................. ................

    ... continued upon our return.

Good luck man. Taking your two sons on a remote float? Should make for a great trip no matter how the hunting is. Have fun.

I googled something about rafts a few months ago and saw that someone filed a patent for a device that gets wheelchair bound folks into rafts. I had a guy ask me if we ought to load the wheeler on mine.

Have a great hunt king, looking forward to the rest of the story.

Just a little teaser.........we made it to Fairbanks this morning, rain, fog, low clouds, more rain in the forecast for tomorrow. We're really looking forward to sitting here for a few days.

Thanks LU for the reminder, BlueMoose has some 'splainin' to do.

I just got back at 2:30 this morning on the ferry. I have a few days to de-grundge my stuff then I'll start some posting. I also haven't recovered from my experience staying in the B&B after the hunt. I'll probably have to start a whole thread & picts for anyone to comprehend what we went thru.

If son #1 was involved, I'm sure there's lots to tell....
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
