    Default First Moose!!

Well, its been countless hours and many, many years of trying and finally I bagged my first moose. I'm almost embarrassed to say that its taken over ten years to reach this point.

Along the way there's been a lot of learning from countless resources, including forums like these. Mostly though there was a lot gained from being in the field year after year and learning from my own mistakes. Patience was the hardest lesson of all.

I am grateful not only for this day but also for the family and friends who helped get the freezer filled. We will thoroughly cherish this every time we sit down to enjoy the harvest.

good job! the first is always the hardest, it is all down hill from here... or up hill... it all depends on where they are standing...

Congrats on a nice moose! He'll eat good over the next few months. How wide is he? I'm guessing 52".

Very nice moose and I agree it looks wider than 47"!! I love those big brow tines also. Stories are always welcomed, thanks for sharing. Don't be embarrassed at all, that is why it is called hunting and not shooting. I think it took me 9 years to get my first whitetail, buck fever had me real bad.!!!!

Way to go man, congrats on your first bull! Love the color on the rack. I'd agree that he looks to be around 50", I don't think you guys stretched the tape hard enough.

Good job. I told you you'd get one soon when we went to town the other day. I talked to Dan yesterday and he said you got a nice one.

Took me 7 years for my first whitetail. Would see does when out of season. But it was nice. First whitetail was a 10 pt.

Hopefully it doesn't take as long for my first moose.
