    Question Kotzebue area fishing

    Hello,
I am flying in to unit 23 for a moose hunt on Sept 14th. My hunting partner said there should be good fishing if we get dropped along the river. (don't know which river) I was planning on bringing a fly rod and he is bringing a spinning rod so we will have the whole gamut covered so to speak.
Have any of you fished that area ( i know its big so this may be a tough one to answer), and if you have, what weight fly rod, fly's or lures that work best? I'm just looking to get a jump on the fishing if the hunting is slow, or for when we are at camp for the night. Much appreciation to all who post with helpful info. Thank you

Oh I'm flying with Ram Aviation if that helps for determining location. Thanks again

The units hunted should be roughly DM872, DM875 and DM876.

You figure out the river, shoot me a pm. Happy to talk with you. I have done float trips on the Kelly, Kugururok, and Wulik. But I must warn you, ain't much in the way of dollies up that way.

    Smart ass

If I could use Photoshop, I would get rid of that boga grip. First time I had used one, got lots of shet for it. Live and learn. As for the fish, if anything, it is bigger than it appears. I am 6'6" 300 lbs. Should have had the wife hold it. Ha ha..
